Celebrate fine jewelry at Bloomingdale’s White Plains with a cocktail party hosted by Kate “Intoxikate” Schlientz on Tuesday, February 11 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm at 175 Bloomingdale Road. Girls love diamonds, so see what the department store has to over in its collection while noshing on hors d’oeuvres from La Provence and sipping on Italian sparkling wines. Learn about New Rochelle’s rich history in brewing from the city historian, Barbara Davis, on Wednesday, February 12 from 6 pm to 8 pm, hosted by Diner Brew Co. The Mount Vernon-based cidery and brewery opened up its taproom in late December last year, and is making good use of the intimate space at 40 Division St. Owner Chris Sheldon wants to build community in his hometown, and this is just one great way of also highlighting what makes New Rochelle special while enjoying a beer or cider from Diner Brew. Explore Sicilian cuisine and its global influences in a cooking class hosted by the Zwilling Cooking Studio in Pleasantville on Wednesday, February 12 at 6 pm. Navigate the island’s food while preparing a menu under the wing of Chef Scott Fratangelo, of L’inizio in Ardsley which includes homemade cannoli and stewed octopus. The Pelham Arts Center is hosting an evening of art and wine on Wednesday, February 12 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm at the gallery, located at 115 Fifth Avenue. This event is a collaboration with InSight Artspace. The work of local artist Béatrice J. Drouhin is featured, and her private collection of Beaujolais Nouveau labels and recent paintings from her “Women and Wine” Part II series will be on display as you enjoy a tasting, light refreshments and a presentation by Laurent Drouhin from Maison J. Starting on Sunday, February 16, spend some time at the Sugar House on Muscoot Farm, 51 Route 100 in Katonah (in some GPS systems, 51 Somerstown Road or Somerstown Turnpike) from 12 pm to 3 pm. See how maple syrup is made through the process of sugaring while learning its history on weekends on the Westchester County farm through March 14.
